COURSE DESCRIPTION
New York City's Local Law 196 of 2017 requires that certain workers and supervisors at certain types of job sites that are required to designate a Construction Superintendent, Site Safety Coordinator or Site Safety Manager receive 40 or 62 Hours of Safety Training.
The Local Law was phased in from 2018 through 2020 and requires that Workers receive 40 Hours of Safety Training to obtain a Site Safety Training (SST) Worker card, and Supervisors receive 62 Hours of Safety Training to obtain a SST Supervisor Card.
Courses required to be taken include:
Both WORKERS and SUPERVISORS
- 30-Hour OSHA
- 8-Hour Fall Prevention
- 2-Hour Drug and Alcohol Awareness
Only SUPERVISORS
- 8-Hour Site Safety Manager Ref/Chapter 33
- 4-Hour Supported Scaffold
- 2-Hour Site Safety Plan
- 2-Hour Tool Box Talks
- 2-Hour Pre-Task Safety Meetings
- 2-General Electives
- 2-Special Electives
